Lil' bit of this, Lil' bit of that.

So, yeah, haven't posted in a while. Hope everyone has been well! Let's see what's happened in the last few months. I got in a car wreck on the Grady Curve and have no car now, which kinda sucks, but I'm using my bike and gettin around fine. So sorry for those who live in Atlanta or the general area, for being unable to get around to you. I would except most of you live where either i can't ride my bike there, or it would take too long on the bus gettin there.

Went to San Diego for Comic-con, which was CRAZY! So many people in one room! There were a lot of great costumes. I think my favorite was a guy who dressed up as Tobias from Arrested Develoment, in the cutoffs, no shirt, glasses, and a bald man haircut! There was also one night when some of us went to eat at this mall, and a guy with nothing on but a gold thong walked by and said, "Holla!" The weather was gorgeous and sunny the whole trip.

I went with Chris Schweizer and Justin Wagner. Chris had his book, Crogan's Vengeance, announced at the Oni Press Panel. It's got pirates, and it's crazy fun, so look for it in the Spring! In San Diego I bumped into a good bit of friends I hadn't seen in a while which was a lot of fun. I got to hang with Joey Weiser, whose book The Ride Home, debuted at Comic con. It's put out by Adhouse and everyone should pick it up, and also read his story in Flight Volume 4! I also got to see Rich Ellis and Ron Chan, who are both amazing and both live in Portland! We also got to hang out with Kevin Burkhalter, who always knows how to keep the laughs coming. Read his journal comic! I also got to hang with fellow Atlantans, Heidi and Dom. Heidi's working on the new Dark Crystal books from Tokyopop, so look for them this Fall!

It was great seeing old friends, but at the same time got to meet some new people as well. I got to meet Ryan Estrada, whose also in Flight 4 with Joey. I also hung out with Dean Trippe. I knew him from various places, and would see him at almost every convention, but this was the first time I actually hung out with him. He's a great guy and an awesome cartoonist. It was funny talking to him, since we knew a lot of the same people, but never really knew who the other one was.

On a sadder note, when returning from San Diego, my grandfather passed away. It was one of those out-of-body experiences, that hit me much later in the day. It's just weird and sad to think that he's not around, and I can't ever see him again.

Hope everyone is having a great summer! It's hot as hell is Atlanta!

MOCCA Recap!

I was super lucky and got a chance to go to MOCCA this past weekend up in NYC. It was incredible. I got to meet new people, see creators that i am a fan of, and also catch up with some friends i hadn't seen in a while. The whole festival was more than i could've imagined. Also got a chance to go to the Top Shelf 10th Anniversary Party, which was awesome! Free drinks and food, not to mention hanging out with friends. I got a chance to talk to Stephen and JP from One Percent, who i hadn't seen in at least a year, and got a chance to talk to one of my favorite artists, Rich Tommaso.

It was only the second time I've gotten a chance to go to NYC, so this time, I saw a lot more. I have to say it's a fun city, but i was ready to come back to Atlanta. My friend Danny, who let me crash with him(Thanks Danny!) took me to a Matt and Kim show in Bushwick(i think that's how you spell it) and was prolly the most fun i've had at a show in a really long time. If you don't know who they are find out about them.
